what are the *coping mechanisms* employed in dealing with the Now? There
has always been a *now*, lingusitically a word for the phase that is
suspended between past and future... but here is more than *now*, it is
NOW, this immense sense of universal coming-into-being like Vishnu emitting
a great groan.
To deal with now we resort to REZ, (resolution: a choice of how much
lossiness will suit each thought process, how much fractal density is
needed to complete the picture)
I think the brain is intrinsically sensitive to this, even if the owner
of the brain isn't... as overload approaches, Mr. Brain detunes, shifts
into progressively lower bit *words*, searching for outlines, vectors and
patterns, not the photographic perfection of the still image.
