isn't this one of (it's either Edward or Edgar) Tufte's *problems* he set
out to attack in his trilogy of books (one of which being The Visual
Display Of Quantitative Information)? Informational Quality is tightly
linked to economic concerns... the higher quality of information, the less
non-nutritive filler there is, the more you are going to have to pay for it
or the better connected you are going to have to be. The general public
gets a huge dose of either info-shit (mind clogging disinformation like
long talk shows about 13 year old children that weigh 500 pounds),
info-filler (endless glossy decorative non-informative *mental packaging*)
or info-compost (re-runs of the Three Stooges)
