homage for d.a.levy
by Luther Jett

oh it is
          there            you see
          they cannot
follow your rebellious
        words there       cannot
trace you even when
       the brute empire
          snaps
at heel of flesh         there
      all emperors must kneel
         before the multitude
               set free
      fences?
               walls?
these have no meaning
      there
and identity's encrypted
                no green card no
mark of cain
         though they chain
                 body twist
         thoughts break bones it
does not happen there
      the idea of being
                 can't be nailed
