    (untitled poem fragment)

    i am moving
    i am moving
& not only the road passes under my feet
the thin faces & the fat faces are not one face behind me.

    a collage of cities
    i have pasted together

    i am moving
    i am moving
& not only the earth slides away beneath my feet
my eye has filmed & cut & spliced a montage of images
    leaving a direction of light

    i am moving
    i am moving
& not only my body is in motion
for anyone foolish enough to look
    i give warning
i am leaving behind tons of rubbish and dust
dont look at it - look at the love still buried in you.

as you lay there like a stagnant pool
    i am moving
    i am moving
in the morning when the black streets
seem to sing as i leave cities behind me
    i am moving

a path of pinpoints on an ancient roadmap
the fine lines etched in a night of songs of my mind
the streets hum lamentations under my feet
i am moving....as you lay there
    like a stagnant pool..i am
    moving..
