<documenta X><blast> closing remarks

It has been a long, exciting journey during the three months of this
forum. I remember that in the beginning, we decided that we would not
try too hard to define the space that we were discussing. Space would
be what we ended up with in September. Are we any closer to it? One of
the things that I've noticed is that we haven't used the term much. And
this is an achievement, because space often serves as a handy marker for
something else, something unthought or unarticulated. I think that we
have generated complex articulations of that which traffics under, and
is often concealed by, "space." It is remarkable. The depth and scope
of our explorations here have been commented upon by many people, and I
am not alone in saying that we have generated something quite
extraordinary.

Catherine David, the Documenta team, and the Blast forum hosts join me
in expressing sincerest thanks to all of our forum participants during
these 100 days. We know that there are many venues for discussion on
the internet and we are very grateful that you have chosen to spend your
time and energy in this one. The forum has flourished, through its many
twists and turns, animated and enriched by your participation.

Saturday is the last day of the documenta, and the web site will close
that evening. (Please feel free to continue this discussion until
then!) There will be no need for you to unsubscribe, since the mail
server will close then too. I am pleased to announce, however, that
this Blast discussion will continue, in a new venue, with a new focus.
Blast will soon be entering into a new alliance, as it has with
documenta. We hope everyone will continue the discussion with us. We
will be sending you an invitation by private email as soon as the new
forum is ready to begin, and give you the specifics at that time.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity for these
conversations. Thank you.

Jordan
PS: A special thanks to Keller Easterling
