If an appliance in one's home opens into cyberspace,
to describe one's surroundings is to unfold a dimension
of homelessness. Exiled, then, from that palpable space the mind
germinates in its obsession with fixed vectors within the ritual
of a coherent frame, the world is "split between
'substantial' reality and spiritual reality." (Taussig)
