I can see another use of VRML, though, which is - not to present 3-d
simulation and/or community - but to move through a semantic space - there
are search engines doing similar things. Perhaps to equate VRML with
simulated 3-d space is similar to equating HTML with 2-d space (Peirce's
sheet of assertion); both are misrecognitions. VRML might be considered a
tool to navigate through multiply-connected and parameterized sememes -
which is a far more interesting model to me.
