Hungry? Hungry? You hungry? [generator sound] I wish there were some fireworks... Mayor Giuliani has this quality of life program so he's cracking down on all kinds of-

-fun things to do-
Ly
So you guys get paid by the government?...
David
We got some fireworks... When you guys first came here I thought I was in trouble.
Ly
I know, you're wearin' like the suits. Waste toxing ticket.
David
Fire squad. Cuz I imagine there's more potential for fires on Fourth of July.
Ly
We don't have any rules - free, warm, comfortable - we wandered off and like climbed the rocks and collect shells and stuff - like in areas where you're not supposed to be in - like where the deep water is - like we'd climb over the rocks and kinda dip near the deep end - ike the woods, you know - it just goes forever - like if they let you on the pier - I feel like it could be better - although it would kinda be like a tourist area...

My mind is unlimited free space? I think it is. Because my mind - I'm unlimited to go wherever I want in my mind - unlimited boundaries - no boundaries - I never believed too much in signs and fences and private beaches. I think you should be able to go - you know, earth is here for you - us, us - to live off of - you should be able to go wherever you want.
Ly
I was talking about how we used to go to the Hampton beaches in Massachusetts and we would go beyond where you were supposed to go to. You know, people will just stay in one spot - I've trespassed and stuff.
David
I mean, I respect peoples' private property and stuff because there's laws. And there's private property of my own that I don't want invaded. But beaches, I believe beaches in Europe - even in front of exclusive hotels, you could still - no, this is in Mexico, definitely Mexico - even in front of posh hotels, the beach is open to the public. Anyone can go to the beach. I think that's the way it should be. I mean, you can't go in somebody's room. But, you should be able to go to the beach and share with anyone, ya know, in harmony...

I was shocked when I saw you guys. I said, Jesus, what's going on here? These people are invading my space and I'm gonna get arrested...

It is true that while I'm in charge of this space, I'm master of this space as far as so many people are concerned, as far as anybody that wants to shop here. But, as soon as a police officer comes, he's in charge. If I'm doin' somethin wrong I can't just privately do whatever I want. Like, I'm not sure if I was able to burn those things I was burnin'. I think there's a law that says if it's in a can you can combust things. I was like, I might be breaking the law here, and I could be in trouble even though it's my little area and I'm doing it safely. It's in my best interest not to burn anything here moreso than the police officer's but- I'm not sure that I was breaking the law. But if I was, I definitely could've gotten in trouble. It wouldn't have been my private space anymore. My private space would've been a jail cell.
