MIAU (Mobile Image Archival Unit): Solar powered video installation.
The video is captured by a high-definition video camera mounted on a rotating tripod that
follows the full 360-degree movement of the midnight sun through a 24 hour
cycle. Centered on the never-setting sun while keeping a leveled horizon
the video pans through the arctic landscape at a barely discernible speed.
Due to 23 interruptions to change videotapes the resulting length of the
video is 22:04 hours.
MIAU has been generously supported by LIV, Nordic Artists Center Dale and the Norwegian Visual Artists Association.
