Harlem Postcards

I was invited to participate in the Studio Museum’s Harlem Postcards project in 2008. I wanted to document activities at the U.S. Army Recruiting Center on 125th street. The Army would not issue me clearance to photograph, nor would the recruiters allow photographs to be taken of them at work, so shooting had to be done surreptitiously.
