"Make what you love" is practically the unofficial religion of artists. It is true that many artists love what they do and what they do is an act of love. In this exhibition that act becomes primary, freeing artists to focus on living with the pure emotional intensity and idealized transcendent nature of love, with all its fixations, obsessions and attendant inspirations. Love is just one of the many features in the practice of art, but a noble one. From boundless love to love bound, the expression and/or condition of living with a focus of emotional intensity sensitizes the individual to the humanity of oneself and of others. In a world of many voices, the outpouring and focus of an individual voice attentive to love can liberate others and grant safe passage to the fearful. It can "shine a light" on the undervalued, or transform and enable others who have been ignored.
