Muestra realizada durante la VII Bienal de la Habana, noviembre del 2000.

René Quintana recrea en su obra el mito de la historia del arte y sus protagonistas. En éste caso manipula lúdicamente la obra de Kurt Schwitters apropiándose del espíritu de la vanguardias de los años 20. El lenguaje desenfadado y la aspereza de su factura demuestran una necesidad explosiva de negar las calculadas y facilistas posturas de quienes construyen obras "nobles" o digeribles.

Exhibition that took place during the 7th Havana Biennial, November, 2000.

In his piece Rene Quintana recreates the myth of art history and its protagonists. En this instance he ludically manipulates Kurt Schwitters, appropriating the spirit of the 1920s avant gardes. The uninhibited language and the roughness of its form demonstrate an explosive need to negate the calculated and facile poses of those who create ÒnobleÓ or digestible work.
